English Teacher and Curriculum Developer 

Outline

Musashino University Chiyoda High School is a government-accredited Japanese private school located in Tokyo. They are scheduled to re-open their Junior High School in April 2022, under the new name, “Chiyoda International Junior High School”. Together with students and teachers,
Our school aims to design and implement a new educational model that equips students with the skills and mindsets they need to contribute to our ever-evolving society.

Term April 1, 2022- March 31, 2023 (Contract renewal, if applicable)
Position overview

The English Teacher and Curriculum Developer’s primary responsibilities include:

            •  ● Planning, preparing and teaching classes, supplementary lessons and special lectures/seminars
               ● Helping design and create spaces where English is used as the primary language
               ● Providing students with guidance and support for English-based exams such as TOEFL
               ● Providing students with guidance and support for overseas university applications
               ● Conducting duties within the internal school divisions to which he/she/they are assigned               (ex: student support, admissions, etc.)
                ⮚ In Japanese schools, most teachers are also a part of administrative divisions that handle non-        teaching related tasks
               ● Supporting student-recruitment related tasks

Qualification
  •  ● Bachelor’s Degree
     ● A Japanese English teaching license for both junior high school and high school
     ● Experience teaching English at a Japanese middle school
     ● Experience teaching English as an additional language to middle and high-school aged students
     ● Experience with curriculum development
     ● Ability to communicate with other teachers in Japanese
Starting date April 1st ,2022
Work Place

11 Yonban-cho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 102-0081 Japan (Nearest station: Ichigaya station about 7 minutes on foot )

Employment condition

Competitive with industry standards, and in accordance with school’s labor and salary policies.
 ● Two days off a week
  ⮚ Teachers are expected to take Sundays off, in addition to one more specified day of the week
  ⮚ There are cases in which off-days are rescheduled due to special circumstances
